Apologies for the Dry Spell!

Hello everyone! I apologize for not writing for a while, I am have been very busy moving. I haven’t had too much to do to forget training though! I am very excited to announce that I am beginning a new challenge, BSN’s Push Your Limits Challenge. This is another six week challenge where you can choose to either shred or bulk. I chose shredding because I would like to lower my body fat percentage as part of my overall fitness goal. I should not have nearly as many distractions as I did the last challenge so I hope for much better success.

I have developed a sort of ‘hybrid’ program. I combined weight lifting, tabata, tire circuits and plyometrics throughout the week. It is diverse but I think just what I need to stay focused and see results.

If you are interested in doing this challenge (winner takes $10,000!) you can find it on Bodybuilding.com. Just a few days left to get your before pictures uploaded and begin!

Can’t wait to keep you all updated on my progress 🙂

The Grind is Over…Or has it Just Begun??

Just wanted to give you all a quick update since it’s been a few days. The Muscle Pharm Back to the Grind Challenge has been completed and I uploaded my after pictures. It wasn’t as much of a change as I would have liked but I had a lot going on over the past 6 weeks so I am just proud of myself for completing it and sticking it out the entire way. I am very happy I did it because it really got me re-focused and now I am more ready than ever to make a transformation. No matter how good you get, you can always be better.

Not to say that I didn’t have some cheat meals during the challenge, but there is nothing like having some GUILT FREE nachos and cheese and starbursts haha. If you are doing a challenge half the time if you decide to eat something unhealthy you won’t really enjoy because you are thinking, ‘where would I have been if I hadn’t ate that?’ Knowing how it feels to actually enjoy some bad food makes me have more willpower for the future when I continue on with this transformation.

I have decided essentially to keep going with this challenge. I have an image in my head in regards to both looks and strength and until I get there, I will not stop. And once I attain it, I won’t stop maintaining it 🙂

Hope you all are having a wonderful day! And remember…you’ll never find a better day than today to set new goals and achieve new dreams. Get out there, and get what you want!!

Y the Y?

When I first started thinking up this blog, I used Y in Tyme because I thought it was clever to make it match Gym. Then the word ‘inspyre’ came to mind for a daily inspiration, and then I thought, ‘why not make that a trend, Gym Tyme’s unique stamp? Then I started thinking of other words I could make unique.
Then I started thinking more in depth into the meaning of it all. The movie ‘The Pursuit of Happyness’ also came to mind. I did a little research on the movie on why they spelled it that way. It symbolizes a lot. And as the question was posed in the movie, why is it the ‘pursuit’ of happiness? Is it something that you always are striving for but may never achieve?
I don’t think that it’s impossible to achieve your goals, but it is always something you are striving for. Even when you attain one goal, you start on a new one. I believe as far as Gym Tyme goes the Y symbolizes that we are not perfect, but that is what makes us unique. The difference between you and the next person is that you are getting off the couch and going out there and doing whatever it takes to get what you want.
Let’s start the Y movement across America, across the world. Ask yourself, Y do I do what I do? Because when you know Y you do something, that Y will give you courage to keep plugging along when you feel like giving up.
Know Y you want to make a change for the better, then do it!
Satisfaction leads to complacency, complacency leads to normalcy, and normalcy leads to nothing.

Daily Inspyre

This is your daily inspyration. I hope to promote to all of you more than just some quick fix fad diet plan so that you can end up yo-yoing back to your previous state. It’s about being healthy. If you want change, make it permanent. If you are doing something that works, keep doing it! You can’t expect to stop working at something and keep seeing the same results.

So keep it up! It’s worth every bit of sweat, but only if you never quit.

Welcome to Gym Tyme!

Hi everyone! I am very excited to announce the release of my fitness blog-Gym Tyme!

A little bit about myself…I am from Missouri (big Mizzou fan :)), I am a country girl, I am in the United States Army, married with a dog, two cats and a horse, and I love fitness :).

I have always tried to be healthy, but it wasn’t until I joined the military that I really got interested. I was blessed to be around a lot of amateur bodybuilders who knew a lot about fitness and nutrition. I learned from them, and then started doing research myself. I have spent countless hours looking up nutrition facts and workouts, and also developing my own. The only way you can know for sure if something works for you is to try it out for yourself.

I am currently pursuing certification in Personal Trainer and Nutrition. I would like to build my personal training experience while I am in the military and when I go home in a few years I would like to be a personal trainer in a gym there before opening a gym of my own.

I hope you all will enjoy this blog, and bear with me in it’s early stages. I hope to convey this blog as an extension of myself…down to earth, easy to talk to, humorous and enjoyable. All feedback is welcome and encouraged!

I plan to cover all aspects of a healthy lifestyle, in a manner that interests everyone. No matter whether you spend hours in the gym a week or whether you are trying to lose a few pounds and lead a healthier life, I hope to inspire you and help you out. I will be posting everything from recipes to workouts, to my favorite funny memes.

Stay tuned, and get ready for GYM TYME!
